Shorebirds
gather in large groups on the beach and in an instant rise in
flight. They appear to move together, as if attached to one
another, often shifting their flight in unison, performing a great
choreographed dance in the air. This group of Willets,
Catoptrophorus semipalmatuus,
and Marbled Godwits,
Limosa
fedoa,
is on Brigantine Island, New Jersey.
