Bald Eagles at Valley Forge 2
Home ] Up ]

This pair of Bald Eagles, Haliaeetus leucocephalus, built a nest in 2004 near Valley Forge Park, PA, and raised two young in 2005.  They use this dead tree as a perch, where I photographed them just after sunrise.      The Bald Eagle has made a major recovery from its threatened status and each year more nests appear in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and elsewhere.
