The Salton Sea in southern California is below sea level and has no outlets, hence it is heavily salt laden and polluted from the runoff of the Imperial Valley agricultural area immediately to the south. Yet it produces wonderful sunset panoramas with its barren trees. On this particular evening in January Venus was bright in the Western Sky. |
